Rihanna has become known for her eye-popping fiery red hair, but it seems she has ditched it for a more toned-down brunette look.

The 23-year-old singer and style icon was spotted with the golden brown locks when she took a trip home to Barbados this weekend. Her hair was piled on top of her head in a loose bun, and she was wearing a multi-toned brown maxi dress, sandals, and carrying a brown Fendi handbag. The Daily Mail released pictures of Rihanna with the new brunette hairdo.It seems that Rihanna has been ready for a new look for a while. Celebrity stylist Ursula Stephen recently commented, "Rihanna has been wanting to change up the color and go for something a little more natural looking. She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted so we started playing around and decided to start toning down the red and bringing it back to a warmer, more natural shade," according to Hollywood News.

Rihanna has been rocking the fiery red hair since the middle of last year. She's worn it many ways, from a short bob, to long flowing locks. When pictures of Rihanna with the new red hair first surfaced, it came as a shock to her fans. Some of her fans loved it and just as many hated it. Many complained that it looked "clownish," fake, and bawdy. Others said it was a beautiful shade that brought out her natural coloring.

Either way, it's time for a change. Rihanna has never seemed to stick to one look for very long, so it was inevitable that her hair was going to take a transformation soon. The brown, more natural color is reminiscent of how she looked when she first came onto the entertainment scene.

Rihanna is wrapping up her North American tour and is set to perform in Barbados later this week.
