The 27-year-old was today confirmed as the leading support act for the singer’s 28 dates throughout the UK as Rihanna stops in Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester, Birmingham and London – among other cities – through October and November.
Rihanna couldn’t be happier to have the I’m Not Alone artist on board for the tour, saying that “Calvin is the perfect fit for the Loud Tour (as) he is going to bring something unique and fun for the fans”.
Calvin – who was also Rihanna’s support act in Australia this year – had planned to team up with a different internationally-renowned pop star for a tour this year, but changed his mind late in the day.
The Dumfries star pulled out of his planned dates with American Katy Perry, declaring that her management team unexpectedly “moved the goalposts” when telling him he would be required to perform without any production.
The California Gurls hitmaker took to microblogging website Twitter to criticise him over his late decision to quit the tour – only for Calvin to quickly respond with his own take on what happened.

Calvin tweeted that, “trust me, you would have been more disappointed seeing the show than u are with me cancelling”.
However, he took a sly dig at Katy’s management when posting that “her show is awesome, you’ll all have an amazing time without me. (especially w/o me DJing on a cardboard box in front of a pink curtain) (sic)”.
Rihanna admits to starving herself on Twitter
The Daily Mail reports that the 23-year-old singer tweeted that she had been restricting her food intake before she was photographed for the publication. Rihanna took to her twitter account on Wednesday saying: "I shot my first cover for Esquire yesterday with Russell James #rockstars*** Not much preparation for that besides wax+starve!!"

One fan responded to her tweet with:"@Rihanna starve?? why?? thats a bad message to your fans ri-ri im dissapointed."
Another said:"@Rihanna how long did you starve??? That #rockstars*** doesn't seem fun!!"
Rihanna ignored the comments and later tweeted: "British Vogue here I come..."
‘Women are dominating pop music’
Rihanna is excited to see so many successful women dominating the pop charts, insisting artists like her pal Katy Perry are

bringing a "breath of fresh air" to the industry.
The "Umbrella" singer is one of a crop of female stars scoring hit after hit around the world and she is proud at their collective achievements.
She tells Glamour magazine, "There's a pack. It's me, (Lady) Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyonce... who else? Kesha for sure.
"Women are definitely dominating music right now, and that's because we are competitive beings. I feel like music hasn't been this exciting in a while."
And Rihanna is particularly enamored with "I Kissed A Girl" hitmaker Perry.
She says, "All my friends are guys, to be completely honest. But when I met her, it was such a breath of fresh air. I just couldn't believe this chick had no edit button... Katy and Lady Gaga came out of the gate exactly the way they think, the way they wanna dress, the way they wanna speak."
